Hi Scholars!
This week we are reviewing a limit definition, but as our point x goes off to infinity (rather than approach a finite point). Formally, the aim is to show a function f(x) is within ε of a limit L so long as x is above a threshold (i.e. “big enough”). In the example above, an explicit bound for this threshold can be found through algebraic manipulations. Check out the slides below for a walkthrough on how to obtain a formal proof.
